Mrs. Donna Joan Medema's Obituary
Mrs. Donna Joan Medema, age 88, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013. She was born May 19, 1925 in Muskegon to Leo and Esther (Paulson) Fouts, Sr. Donna was a 1943 graduate of Muskegon High School and had attended Hope Reformed Church. For many years she worked for the State of Michigan for the Department of Human Services as a case worker before retiring in 1986. On April 25, 1947 she married James Medema in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2005. SURVIVORS include 3 daughters, Connie (Joseph) Gawron, Sandra (Barney) Goodrich, Debra (Carl) Annessa; 6 grandchildren, Crista Gawron, Sara and Steven Goodrich, Carlie (Michael) VanderVelde, Jamie and Katie Annessa; 2 great-grandchildren, Hayden and Sophia VanderVelde; and her sister, Patricia Julian. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Leo Jr., William, and Robert Fouts. SERVICES will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 24, 2013 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Rev. Steve Hyma officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Friday.
