Mrs Donna Joan Ruzicka's Obituary
Mrs. Donna Joan Ruzicka, age 83, passed away Tuesday morning, March 17, 2015. Donna was born March 30, 1931 in Port Huron, MI to Fred V. and Myrtle E. (Warren) French. Donna was a graduate of Muskegon Heights High School, earned her Bachelors in Education from Western Michigan University, attended University of Michigan, and obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Michigan State University. On July 23, 1955 she married Victor Joseph Ruzicka at St. Michael Catholic Church in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1993. Donna was a career teacher in the Muskegon Public School System. She taught junior high math at the Central, Steele, Nelson and Bunker buildings over her 35 years, prior to retirement. Donna was a member of the NEA and the MEA. She was also part of the Thursday Night Michigan Lanes Bowling League for many years. She enjoyed her bridge club, and the times spent at the family cabin on Sauble Lake. Donna is survived by her children, Mary (Jeffrey) Hill of Carleton, MI and Victor “Fred” Ruzicka of Norton Shores; and two grandchildren, Joel V. Hill and Jillian D. Hill; and several special cousins. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100, with Rev. Gerald Hagans officiating. VISITATION will be Friday evening from 6-8 PM. Entombment in St. Mary’s Mausoleum. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the American Stroke Association.
