Donna M. Weinberg's Obituary
Donna M. Weinberg, age 99, met her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 14, 2023. She was born on December 15, 1923, to Howard and Mae (Whitcomb) Perry in rural Carthage, IL. She graduated from Carthage High School class of 1941. Donna continued her education at Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL. She was a dedicated employee of the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) working as a Farmers Home Administrator (FmHA) for numerous years before retiring in 1986. On October 19, 1946, she married the love of her life, Samuel Weinberg in Pontiac, IL. Together they cherished 14 years of marriage full of love and laughter. Samuel preceded her in death on May 20, 1961. Donna enjoyed keeping herself busy and after her retirement from the USDA, she continued to work as a bookkeeper for her son at All About Mowers in Macomb. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church in both Carthage and Macomb, IL. Donna enjoyed serving as a secretary, treasurer and volunteered with various ministry groups. She participated in a mission trip to Haiti and trained for the Peace Corp in Belize. She loved traveling to various states with groups and family, even finding her way to Australia and New Zealand. Donna did extensive research into both her and husband’s family genealogy. Due to her findings, she became a member of the DAR in honor of three ancestors that served in the Revolutionary War. She will truly be missed by many.
