Mr. Donovan W. Hanson's Obituary
Mr. Donovan W. Hanson, age 86, passed away Monday, October 06, 2014 in Muskegon. He was born in Hill City, MN on December 9, 1927 to George A. and Mavone H. (Dean) Hanson. Donovan was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in WWII. He had most recently been employed by Versatile Fabrication before retiring in 1990. Donovan was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway and the Don Rea VFW Post #8846. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking and loved the outdoors. On February 25, 1989, he married the former Verda Marion Billings and she survives him along with three children, Deborah L. Gundy, Brian D. (Susan Weems) Hanson and Paul D. (Brenda J.) Hanson; three step-sons, Rick (Laura) Huey, Cregg (Kim) Huey and Charles (Kim) Huey; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty J. (Jim) Press. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Coral D. Hanson; one son, Jon E. Hanson and two brothers, George E. Hanson and LaMoyne R. Hanson. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 10, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Julie Winklepleck officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Gerber Home Care would be appreciated.
