Donovan B. Wallace's Obituary
Mr. Donovan B. Wallace, age 70, went to be with his Lord Wednesday morning, March 30, 2011, at the Village Hospice House, The Villages, FL. He was born October 16, 1940 in Manistee, MI to John B. and Charlotte (Townsend) Wallace; and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1971, moving here from San Antonio, TX. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in 2000, he had been employed at SAF Holland-Neway, as a Senior Project Engineer. Don was a member of Dalton Baptist Church and of the Lansing, MI American Legion Post. He also served as a member of the East Dalton-Oakhill Cemetery Association board. On August 3, 1963 he married the former Mary Ann Craker, and she survives him along with 3 children, Brenda Weaver of Watervliet, MI, Donovan (Patti) Wallace, Jr. of Grand Haven and Jonathan Wallace of Rockford, MI; 7 grandchildren, James, Jr. and Jessica Weaver, Rebecca, Andrew, Brea, Jonathan Dean and Jenna Wallace; 1 brother, Phillip (Lorna) Norkus of Richmond, MI; 1 sister, Leatha (Wayne) Stewart of Bay Minette, AL; 1 brother-in-law, Ken (Linda) Craker and 4 aunts and uncles, who were more like sisters and brothers, Shirley Lidke, Leatha (Ken) Gillespie, Jay (Joyce) Townsend and Mike Townsend. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 4PM Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Dalton Baptist Church with Pastor Bob DeWitt officiating. Private interment will be in East Dalton Oakhill Cemetery. VISITATION with Don’s family will be 3-4 PM Saturday, April 30th, prior to the service.
