Dora S. "Tootsie" Johnson's Obituary
Dora S. “Tootsie” Johnson, age 95, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at a local nursing home. She was born on November 16, 1921 to John and Stina (Longo) Anderson in Frankfort, MI. Dora was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she took part in bible study and quilting groups. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, picnics at the lake and swimming with her family. For over 30 years, she played bridge at noon on Mondays with her friends and played golf until she was in her 80’s. Dora met Frank B. Johnson Jr., at Ferris College and they married on September 25, 1941 in Frankfort. He preceded her in death in 1992. SURVIVORS include 4 children, John Johnson, Bonnie (James) Swanker, Frank Johnson III and Gary Johnson; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dora was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters and daughter-in-law, Patricia Johnson. A PRIVATE MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place for the family. MEMORIALS can be directed to the Red Cross or Great Lakes Care Hospice.
