Dora Lee Leusing's Obituary
Dore Lee Leusing was born March 14, 1956, to Marty and Bonnie Christian. Dora spent her early life in Fruitport on Carr Road. Playing in the woods with David, Sherry and Shelly soon gave way to “liberating her dad’s tractor to gather up friends to party”. Dora’s life changes forever when she gave birth to her sons, the lights of life, and then again when grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived. Devoted mother, aunt, grandmother, daughter, and niece, Dora’s love knew no bounds. Her smile could lighten any darkness, her laughter chased away the blues. Work was always important to Dora, some of her favorite jobs were school bus driver, taking care of children and seniors, working pow-wows with family, bingo, and rides to work. Dora played as hard as she worked. When she wasn’t yelling bingo at select or Disabled Vets in Holland, she was showing royal flushes (twice) and scooping up pots in Texas-Hold-Em. Dora will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched. She was preceded in death by parents Leo, Bonnie, Jim, and Stella, sister Shelly, and band brother David. Her loving family includes husband Michael, sons Mark and TJ, daughters-in-law Cyerna and Kimberlee, sisters Sherry, Heather, Roxanne, Denise, Sharon, and Jeanie, brothers JD, Bryan, and Stacy, grandchildren, Larry, Chloe, Tryston, Cody, Isabell, Aiyana, and Markus, great grandchildren, Liam, Chaden, Aneyay, and Siriah, and way to many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friend, neighbors, In-laws and outlaws to mention (even though she would). Please know she loved each and everyone one of you.
A memorial will be held at AKI Maadiziwin at 2953 Shaw Be Quo-ung behind the Little River Casino in Manistee from 12-5 PM on December 8th, 2024.
