Dora Audrey Hopkins' Obituary
Mrs. Dora Audrey Hopkins, age 76, passed peacefully and went to be with her Lord , Friday evening, October 22, 2010, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by family. Dora was born August 12, 1934 in Elkhart, Indiana. On June 28, 1952 she married Robert Lynn Hopkins and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2008. Dora was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed games like Yahtzee and Scrabble, hunting agates and spending time on the Lake Superior Shoreline. Dora and her husband Hoppy enjoyed their many years wintering in Clermont, Florida. Dora is survived by her children, Barbara (Russell) Hoeker of Maple Grove, MN, Judi (David) Bowyer of Twin Lake, and Scott (Rhonda) Hopkins of Ravenna; her grandchildren, Forrest (Brittney), Krystal (Tom), Robert (Dana), Lindsey (Gary), Ryan(Heather), Kristin (Mark), and Gregory(Emily); her great-grandchildren, Breanna, Ezra, Kayla, Logan and Maclain; 2 brothers, Victor Signs of FL and Robert (Judy) Signs of MI; 3 sisters, Nancy (Joseph) Frank of FL, Jean (Wilson) Dutton of TN, and Judy Pugh: a step sister, Dorothy Britizen of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, W. Scott and Virginia (Blanchard) Gibbs. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11am Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Calvary Memorial Church (909 E. Giles Rd.) with Rev. Jeffery Dunn officiating. VISITATION will be Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210.
