Dorallee Mae VanDyke's Obituary
Dorallee Mae VanDyke, age 88, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at home.
She was born on April 25, 1935, to Bennie and Lena (Williams) Hanks in Muskegon. Dorallee was an active member of Hope Reformed Church in Muskegon. Prior to 1995, she had worked 25 years in the accounting department at Geerpres in Muskegon. Dorallee enjoyed family gatherings, card games, camping, swimming in Lake Michigan and square dancing.
She married James W. Morse on July 22, 1955, and they were married until his passing on June 7, 1995. On July 27, 2002, she married Phillip J. VanDyke and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2012. SURVIVORS include her children, Connie Jo (Thomas) Elliott, Vicki (Jack) VanDam, Thomas (Gina Acebo) Morse; brother-in-law Robert (Barbara) Scanlon; grandchildren Melissa Morse Tolentino-Potter (Felix), Andrea Van Dam, Steven Elliott, Emily (Ross) Cooper, Calder Morse; great grandchildren Chloe and Charlotte Cooper; stepdaughter, Marcia LeMire; 4 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great grandchildren. Nieces and Nephews include Theresa Hicks, Debra Alderink, David Hanks, Joe Kemp, Rick Kemp, Carol Kemp and John Kemp, Roger Scanlon, Ron Scanlon, Shelly Westhoff, Sue Adamski, Cindy Christiansen and Jody McCarthy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son William Morse; in-laws William and Evea Morse; siblings Julia (Howard) Kemp, Jean (Homer) Baker, Byron (Florence) Hanks, sisters in-law Gay (Clarence) Christiansen and Doris Scanlon, and step-daughter, Sharon VanDyke.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Pastor Steve Hyma and Pastor John DeBoer co-officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5pm to 7pm, on Friday, June 9, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Muskegon Rescue Mission, Hope Reformed Church, or a charity of your choice. Burial will take place at East Dalton Oakhill Cemetery.
