Doreen H. Coon (Cline)'s Obituary
Doreen H. Coon (Cline), age 79, of Augusta, MI and formerly of Whitehall and Muskegon, passed away Wednesday morning, December 31, 2014 in Grand Rapids. She was born May 22, 1935 in Muskegon to James and Clarissa (Kulikamp) Cline. Doreen graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1953 and married Duane A. Coon on August 5 of that same year. She worked for Howmet for 32 years before retiring in 1995. Doreen loved to go camping and travel. She was a member of The Sleep-n-Baggers, Jayganders, and the Lake Jayco Gypsies. SURVIVORS include her brother, Ralph G. Ferris, Jr.; nephew, Christopher Bantien; special friend of 21 years, Harley Disbrow; 3 special couples and their children: Darrell and Jo Ann Boyd of Spring Lake, Fred and Cindy Knapp of Montague; Sue and Skip Grigonis of Birch Run; aunt Donna Weller; special cousin, Marcia and Bill Workman; and several other cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Duane Coon; and friends, Claude Todd and Dawn Boyd. SERVICES will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Christopher Boehnke officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be from 5-8 PM Monday and one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to the American Heart Association will be appreciated.
