Mrs. Doreen Ann Plaisier's Obituary
Mrs. Doreen Ann Plaisier, age 69, passed away October 3, 2012 into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Doreen was born April 12, 1943 to Gerald and Geraldine (Pikaart) Wever in Muskegon and grew up in Fremont. On December 17, 1965, she married James R. Plaisier and they enjoyed 46 years together. Doreen worked 30 years at Internal Medicine of Grand Haven, retiring in 2000, and was a volunteer for Love INC for many years. She was a long time member of Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church where she was involved with the Mary Martha Bible study, sang in the choir, played chimes and served on the decorating committee for many years. Doreen enjoyed spending time with family and adored her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, watercolor painting, gardening, camping, traveling and bird watching. Doreen is SURVIVED by her husband, Jim; sons, Tim (Tonya) Plaisier of Nunica and Matt (Jennifer) Plaisier of Shady Shores, Texas; 5 grandchildren, William Plaisier, Andrew Plaisier, Daniel Plaisier, Kelsey Plaisier and Lauren Plaisier; brothers, Lee (Sonja) Wever and Wayne (Sue) Wever; sister, Sheryl (Richard) Miner; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barbara Buter, Harold Plaisier, Ray and Darlene Plaisier, Helen and Marvin Witte, Shirley and Richard Tibbe, Shari Plaisier, Larry and Jana Plaisier; and many nieces and nephews. She was PRECEDED in death by her parents in 2008; brothers-in-law, Harold Buter and Ken Plaisier; and sister-in-law, Arlene Plaisier. The FUNERAL service will be 11 AM Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church, 364 S. Lake Ave, Spring Lake, MI 49456, with Rev. Drew Sweetman officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8, Monday, October 8, 2012 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. Interment will be at Spring Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
