Mrs. Doris (Preston) Horton, age 76, of Twin Lake, MI passed on to her new life Thursday, July 7, 2011. Doris was born April 3, 1935 to Avery, a country music entertainer and bronco buster and Pearl (Missildine) Preston, a modest Southern Christian woman in Austin Texas, then moved to Michigan when she was 14 years old with her brother, Jimmy, and sister, Helen. Married to Allen Horton for 59 years, she fulfilled the role of mother and wife while working occasional part-time jobs. She is survived by her only son Cris (Debbie) Horton; 4 grandchildren, Jason, Amanda, Brandon and Ryan; three great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Molly and Kennedy. She will be missed. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Twin Lake United Methodist Church, 5940 S. Main St., Twin Lake, MI. Graveside Services will take place at 2:00 PM Monday, July 11, 2011 at Twin Lake Cemetery.
