Doris Ruth Franklin's Obituary
Mrs. Doris Ruth Franklin, age 98, passed away in Grand Haven, Michigan on Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was born in Grand Haven on August 26, 1927 to Anthony and Margaret (Draeger) Holzinger. Doris married Donald L. Franklin on September 19, 1949 and they enjoyed 57 years together prior to his passing in 2007. In retirement, Doris and Donald enjoyed spending six months in Texas where they were active with their friends playing games and attending community outings. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, playing cards, and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Muskegon. She is survived by her three children, Cynthia (Steve) Musick, Mark (Gail) Franklin, and Bruce (Orchid) Franklin; eight grandchildren, Mathew (Lori) Musick, Kimberly (Brian) Speer, Josh (Sarah) Musick, Rebecca (Ben) Burkholder, Katie (Greg) Booth, Adam (Elise) Franklin, Joyce Franklin, and Jeremy Franklin; and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Don, Doris was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Bernice Rice, Joyce Miller, and Peggy Vermeer. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with a time of fellowship and desserts to immediately follow her service.
