Doris M Geoghan's Obituary
Doris M. Geoghan, age 95, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 in Whitehall. She was born on August 12, 1928 in Muskegon to George and Zelda (Wachsmith) Erickson and resided in the Muskegon area her entire life. Doris worked at Mercy Hospital for many years prior to retiring in 1989. She was a longtime active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and Pre Marriage Counselor. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross and Right to Life for many years. Doris’ family was her greatest source of joy, and she poured her love, wisdom and kindness into nurturing and supporting them throughout the years. In 1951, she married Harry Geoghan and were devoted partners for 53 years. SURVIVORS include three children: son, Mike and Berni Geoghan and their children, Sheli (Bryan Joseph) Massie, Matt (Tracy) Geoghan, Josh (Cori) Geoghan, Rachel (Erin Cummings) Geoghan, Sarah (Kevin Marold) Geoghan; son, Tom (Tammy) Geoghan and their children, Tyler (Kelly Gorbach) Geoghan and Andrew (Allison Searles) Geoghan and step-children, Joe and Trisha Fillips, Tanner and Lyndsey Alexander and Zach and Michelle Zobolewski; daughter, Betsy (Jim) Grinsell, and their sons, Tim Boes and Ryan Boes; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson. Doris was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert Erickson and Donald Erickson. The Memorial Service will be 2PM, Saturday November 4, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service, from 1-2PM. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
