Doris Fern Gerencer's Obituary
Mrs. Doris F. Gerencer, age 97, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 24, 2020. She was born in Muskegon on May 13, 1923 to Walter and Gladys (Barlow) Poulson. Doris was an active member of Calvary Memorial Church. She enjoyed Bible study groups and church lunch groups at Russ. Most importantly, Doris loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. On April 27, 1946, Doris married George Henry Gerencer in Muskegon and he preceded her in death in 2003. She is survived by her son, George P. (Jan) Gerencer; two grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Gerencer and Jaleen (Scott) Rodgers; two great-grandchildren, Kane and Kairi Gerencer; sister, Faye Bosma; and many friends at Calvary Memorial Church. In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lottie Gillish; and two brothers-in-law, Henry Gillish and Richard Bosma. SERVICES for Doris will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Calvary Memorial Church (909 Giles Road, Muskegon, MI 49445) with Rev. Jeffery Dunn officiating. VISITATION will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. Burial will be in E.
