Mrs. Doris A. Hoffius' Obituary
Doris A. Hoffius, age 85, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021, and went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born June 24, 1935 in Grand Rapids, MI to Louis and Mary (Provost) Vanderweele, moved to Muskegon at the age of one, and has been a lifelong resident of the area. Doris was a charter member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church. On October 21, 1955 she married Robert H. Hoffius, and together celebrated 65 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, Robert; son, David Hoffius of Spring Lake and daughter, Janet (William) Sorensen of Norton Shores; 6 grandchildren: Susan (Rick) Pellegrom, Lisa (Charlie) Brey, Kari Hoffius, Kelly (Garrett) Dunton, Jenna Hoffius, Nicklas Hoffius; 5 great-grandchildren: Mia, Avrey, and Molly Pellegrom, Nina and William Brey. Doris was preceded in death by her son, John, and siblings Marilyn Wolffis, Donald and Louis Vanderweele. The funeral service for Doris will be Monday, May 10, at 12:00 noon at Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 973 W. Norton Ave., Norton Shores, 49441. Visitation will be after the funeral. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Hoffius may be made to Western Michigan Christian High School/Middle School or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
