Doris Elaine Laban's Obituary
Mrs. Doris Elaine Laban, age 86, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 in North Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on June 23, 1931 to Harold E. and Leona B. (Lighton) Erickson and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1949. Doris retired from Tri City Tool and Die after 25 years as bookkeeper. She was a life member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Muskegon where she sang in the choir, and was an associate member of St. Timothy Church of Tarpon Springs, Florida. She was a member of DeColores and held offices in Sons of Norway Lodge #523 of Muskegon. Doris enjoyed bowling, painting with water color, and crafts. On October 25, 1952, Doris married Robert E. Laban in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2018. She is survived by three children, David (Brenda) Laban, Denise (Tom) Collins, and Donald Laban; four grandchildren, Erica (Rob) Pollock, Micah Gager, Cassie Collins and Bailey Laban; four great-grandchildren, Laban and Jaden Pollock, Amaya and Malia Anderson; one brother, Norman (Joan) Erickson; many nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Terri Venne who has taken care of Doris for the past five years at the nursing home. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church (1206 Whitehall Road) with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. VISITATION will be from 10-11AM Tuesday at church. MEMORIALS in memory of Doris may be directed to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
