Doris Schamber's Obituary
Mrs. Doris J. Schamber, age 76, received her eternal life Monday, January 31, 2005. She was born May 23, 1928 to M. Wayne and Edna (Hughes) Gillette in Muskegon, and was a life resident. She was a co-owner with her husband of Schamber Tractor Sales, was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Tatra Hall, and the Viking Lodge. Doris enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing cards. On July 23, 1949 she married Vernon D. Schamber, who preceded her in death on September 7, 1997. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. SURVIVORS include 3 daughters, Linda (fiance’ Tom Andrews) Schultz of Muskegon, Sally (Freddie) Mitchell of Muskegon, Karen (Thomas) Homa of N. Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Jaime Larson, Lindsey Schultz, Holly and Autumn Homa; 1 sister, Barbara Conklin of Whitehall; 2 sisters-in-law, Mildred VanDyke, Helen Bomers, both of Spring Lake; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Jo Schamber. SERVICES will be 3:00 PM Thursday at St. Mark Ev. Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Zimmerman officiating. Burial will take place at Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,1547 W. Sherman Blvd.(231) 759-8565 will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday evening.
