Doris L. Sterns' Obituary
Mrs. Doris L. Stearns, age 93, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020. She was born on May 28, 1927 in Fremont, MI to Menno and Esther (Norman) Buck. In 1946, Doris married Paul Stearns and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage together. They were a long-time members of Grace Christian Reformed Church in Muskegon. Doris and Paul were both mission minded people and both volunteered their time with Mississippi Christian Family Services and LOVE Inc. for many years. Doris was also instrumental in starting the Clothing Closest at Grace CRC, and dedicated years of service to continue that mission. She loved spending time with her family and friends; she was an avid reader in her quiet times. Paul preceded Doris in death on April 7, 2013. SURVIVORS include four children, Linda (James) Samuelson, Nancy (Gary) Awishes, Frank Stearns, and Carol (Doug) Ohime; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and two sisters, Marian Sargent, and Kathy Copps. Doris was also preceded in death by son, Roger Stearns; and brother, Kenneth Buck. Due to Covid 19 private Family Services were held. Memorial Contributions would be appreciated by St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
