Mrs. Doris A. Stibitz's Obituary
Doris Adelaide Stibitz, age 89, passed away on April 3, 2017. Doris was born on September 21, 1927 to James and Helen Coffman. In 1947 she married James “Pete” Stibitz whom she met while roller skating at the Curve Crest in North Muskegon. Together they were blessed with 3 children and 60 years of marriage until his death in 2008. Doris worked as a secretary at her husband’s business Muskegon Valve Co. She was a proud member of Temple United Methodist Church where she also served in the Women’s Society. Doris enjoyed being with her family, perch fishing, archery hunting, camping. She was also a hall of fame knitter. She was a loving, generous, caring woman who will be deeply missed. Doris is survived by her children, Susan (Don) Rop and David (Ellen) Stibitz; daughter-in-law, Jane Stibitz; grandchildren, Jennifer Kluge-Becher, Angel (Brian) Hagood, Heather Webster, Tracy (Brian) Jewzewski, Charlyne (Matthew) Jones, Nicholas Stibitz and Lindsay (John) Froman and Jean (Mike) Rhodes; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Pete” Sr.; son, James Jr.; and sisters, Elaine Brott and Helen Coffman. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11AM at Temple United Methodist Church 2500 Jefferson St. VISITATION will take place 1 hour prior to the start of the service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Temple United Methodist Church or Pound Buddies.
