Doris E. Taylor's Obituary
Doris Evelyn Taylor, age 90, of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Riverside Nursing Home. She was born October 2, 1927, in Grand Haven to George and Florence (Baily) Clover, and she married Eugene Taylor on July 31, 1948, in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2003.
Doris was a lifelong resident of Grand Haven. She worked at Grand Haven Brass, the tannery, and Canfields, and after retiring worked for Pinewood Place for eight more years. Doris was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Grand Haven. Her other interests were doing puzzles, bargain shopping, going to Russ’s to eat, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Eugene (Betty) Taylor of Grand Haven, Joyce (Steve) Sherwood of Grand Haven, Ronald Taylor of Grand Haven, Ted (Steve Nurnberger) Taylor of West Virginia, and Dora (Mike) King of Holland; twelve grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jim and David, her sister, Beverly Lehman, and two brothers, George and Thomas Clover.
The funeral for Doris will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018, at First Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Cory Nederveld officiating. Friends may meet the family 1-3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, at Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services – The VanZantwick Chapel in Grand Haven. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery.
