Doris A. Williamson's Obituary
Mrs. Doris Ann Williamson, age 87, passed away Saturday morning, March 17, 2018. She was born September 25, 1930 in Belding, MI to Nicholas and Myrle (Latten) Dertien. Doris married Norman Halbower and he preceded her in death on November 4, 1973. She then married Pastor Roy Williamson on February 16, 1991 in Muskegon and he also preceded her death on July 26, 2013. Doris had worked for the MESC for over 28 years prior to retiring on June 1, 1984 and was a member of the State Employees Retiree Association. She was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church where she had served as a Deaconess, former Sunday School teacher of the Little Tots, and sang in the choir. She also volunteered at the Rescue Mission and belonged to its Ladies Sewing Circle. SURVIVORS include 3 sons: Lawrence (Michelle) Bogner of Perry, MI, twins: Robert (Cindy) Bogner of Baroda, MI, Thomas (Delphine) Bogner of Marietta, GA; daughter, Sandra Follett of Muskegon; step-daughter, Phyllis (Charles) Bagwell of Washington; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Virginia Dertien of Lubbock, TX. She was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Cheryl (Daniel) Fullmer; great-grandson, Aiden Follett; brother, Douglas Dertien; half-brother, Donald (Patricia) Dertien; and half-sister, Dorothy (Harry) Shatney. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Lakeside Baptist Church. Burial will take place in Laketon Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565.
