Doris E. Stone's Obituary
Mrs. Doris E. “Mickey” “Mic” “Babe” Stone, age 87, died Monday, February 5, 2007 in Muskegon. She was born on July 22, 1919 in Fremont, MI to William and Agnes (Brown) Cavanaugh, and resided in the Muskegon area for more than 65 years. Mrs. Stone was a baptized member of Cloverville Baptist Church, enjoyed playing bingo, had many special friends, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. On November 21, 1981 she married Lyle Stone, and he survives her along with 4 children, Nancy C. Paul of Spring Lake, Marilyn K. Sturtevant of Muskegon, Ronald David (Debbie) Kempton of Fennville, MI, and Walter E. Kempton of Muskegon; 6 stepchildren; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, LaVerne (Carol) Cavanaugh of Muskegon; 2 sisters, Ruth “Tootie” Sparrow of Muskegon, Betty (Marvin) Erb of Bridgeton, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Dorothy Morey, Pauline Dowdy, and Arlene Saput; brother, Raymond Cavanaugh; and first husband, Walter D. Kempton on January 25, 1975. SERVICES will be 11 AM Friday at Cloverville Baptist Church (4345 Heights Ravenna Rd.) with Revs. Jonathan and Joshua Rager officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-9 PM Thursday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. Burial will take place in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to the family or Cloverville Baptist Church will be appreciated.
