Doris E. Way's Obituary
Rejoicing happened in heaven when Mrs. Doris Elaine (Nelson) Way was received by her Lord and Savior on January 25, 2012. Doris was born in 1933 in Muskegon, Michigan to Edwin and Margaret Nelson, who greeted her upon her heavenly arrival along with many aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, Marvin and Ralph Way, and two cousins, Sherman Nelson and Don Holstege.
Doris graduated from Muskegon High School and worked many years as a loan officer with Hackley Bank and later co-founded Alpine Collision Center in Grand Rapids with her husband, Harry. Doris was a successful working mother who provided a loving Christian home to her family. She considered her family her greatest accomplishment and doted on her daughters, grand and great grandchildren. In retirement, Doris and Harry traveled and enjoyed their home in Florida and their cabin on the Pere Marquette River near Baldwin. They attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Muskegon and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Scottville.
Doris is survived by and lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 58 years, Harry and daughters, Sharon (Paul) Loughridge, and Linda (Tim) Jacobs, grandchildren Rachelle (Sam) Kaltak, Veronica (Mike) Van Wagoner, Kevin Gaut, Chelsea Jacobs, and Jonathan Jacobs, and three great grandchildren, Trenton and Adrianna Jacobs and Brielle Mimi Van Wagoner. Doris is also survived by her brother, Lester Nelson, sister, Jeanne (Ron) Maycroft, brother-in-law Stanley Way, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a special little Yorkshire terrier, Lucy.
