Doris H. Schaefer's Obituary
Mrs. Doris H. Schaefer, age 92, went to be with her Lord early Monday morning, May 3, 2010 in Muskegon. She was born December 21, 1917 to William B. and Edna Mae (Cross) Hiller in Detroit, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. She worked at Howmet for 23 years, retiring in 1980, and was a member of Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church. Doris’ family was the most important thing in the world to her. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and enjoyed family events at their cabin in Brohman, MI. She was married to Herbert F. Schaefer on November 24, 1938, and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1996. SURVIVORS include her special companion Richard Wygant of Muskegon; 4 children, Doris Edna (Ron) McCastle of Holton, Kathleen (John) Schaefer, Bill (Peggy) Schaefer, Sheila (Bill) Baldwin, all of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bill Seaben; and four brothers, Bill, Chet, Don, and Ben Hiller. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1860 Hile Rd., with Rev. Dennis Stroh officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
