Doris M. Summerfield's Obituary
Mrs. Doris M. Summerfield, 93, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 in Muskegon. Born Dec. 2, 1917 in LaPorte, IN to Irvin and Irma (Wright) Cady, she lived in Muskegon since 1950. She married Charles F. Summerfield on Feb. 5, 1938 in Flint, MI, and together they had been active members of Central Assembly of God Church. spent 10 years as missionaries in Jamaica and Haiti, and were founding members of Deliverance Tabernacle. SURVIVORS include her children: Marjorie McCurry of Traverse City, Kathryn (David) Horness of Fruitport, Frederick (Karen) Summerfield of Muskegon, Johnnie (Anita) Summerfield of Westminster, CO, James (Victoria) Summerfield of Whitehall, and daughters-in-law Wanda Summerfield of Muskegon and Cheri Wasnales of Denver; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Irvin Cady, and sister, Joy Fitzpatrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother Mary Harriman; husband Charles; son Deo; seven great-grandchildren; brothers Irman and Loren; sisters Lucille, Bebe, and Lois. FUNERAL SERVICES for Mrs. Summerfield with her son, Pastor Frederick Summerfield officiating will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, phone 231-798-1100. Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011. MEMORIALS may be made through Deliverance Tabernacle for the Haitian Mission work begun by the Summerfield’s.
