Dorothy Bowen's Obituary
Dorothy Banta Bowen, age 80, of Grand Haven passed away suddenly Thursday, October 6, 2005. Born November 15, 1924, to Regnar T. and Mildred B. (Walter) Kidde in New York, NY, she was married to Howard S. Bowen on June 6, 1947, in Evanston, IL. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2000.
Mrs. Bowen had been an area resident the past 50 years; and was formerly an executive secretary for a legal firm for many years. She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Daniel O’Shea) Bowen of Brooklyn, NY; three sons, Robert (Susan) Bowen of Livonia, MI; Peter (Marsha) Bowen of Houston, TX; and Howard S. Bowen, Jr. of Utah. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and sister, Sidney Kettlewell.
A memorial service for Dorothy B. Bowen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family Sunday afternoon from 12-noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa Community, International Aid, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
