Dorothy "Dot" Chiaverini's Obituary
Dorothy L. “Dot” Chiaverini, 83, passed away early Monday morning, February 9, 2015 at her home She was born February 12, 1931 to William and Gertrude (Breimier) Trempel in Fort Wayne, IN. Dot taught and coached track at Muskegon Catholic Central and her track team won the State Championships in 1975, 1976, and 1978. She used to call herself “St. Dot” for sitting in the bleachers for 50 years to watch “Chev’s” football teams. She loved to garden, and don’t forget the “jungle” in the house. Dot had a wonderful life. On December 19, 1953 she married Roger J. Chiaverini, and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2010. SURVIVORS include her son Mark and his wife Alyssa, along with 7 grandchildren, Claire, Grace, Blake, Haylie, and Brianna Chiaverini, Patrick and Kyrie Watson; 1 brother, William (Billy) and his wife Shirley Trempel; and 2 nephews. Dot was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Chiaverini Watson; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Robert Oehmke. A memorial gathering will take place Saturday, February 21, from 1:00 - 6:00 PM, at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210.
