Dorothy June (DeVries) Christenson, age 102, passed away on July 24, 2022, in Muskegon, MI. Dorothy was born in Muskegon, MI, to Christian and Johanna (Zicterman) DeVries on June 19, 1920. She married Eugene “Chris” Christenson on June 30, 1945, and they had 68 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death on May 12, 2014. Dorothy was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Dorothy loved to read, play cards, travel, and spend time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chris; brothers: Bernard and Willard; sister, Helen; and sister in-law, Millie DeVries Cooper. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Terry (Jackie) Christenson; five grandchildren: Jennie (Reade) Alpaugh, Cynthia (Amar Patel) Christenson, Remy Christenson, Seren Christenson, and Elowynn Christenson; two step-grandchildren: Grant and Rhiannon Leed; three great grandchildren: Sophia Alpaugh, Aiden Alpaugh, and Avery Patel; three nieces: Joann DeVries, Barb (Roger) Brink, and Pam (Don) Correll; nephew, Tom (Jan) DeVries; and very special friends, Lois Craymer, Marleen Dykstra, and Kathy Wysozan. A private service will be held, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
