Dorothy E. Hilliard's Obituary
Dorothy E. Hilliard, age 91, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at Chestnut Fields Senior Living Center. She was born May 7, 1930 in Kingsford, MI to Axel E. Lakanen and Ida G. Lakanen and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. On June 7, 1952 she married Virgil F. Hilliard in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on August 4, 1989. Dorothy worked over 30 years as the church secretary for Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was also an active member. Survivors include 2 sons, Dale (Vicky) Hilliard, Randy (Julia) Hilliard; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Shawn) Moore, Hilary (Sarah) Hilliard, Sarah (Bob) Barrett, Amy (Keith) Falkowski, Alex Hilliard, Janna Hilliard, Christopher Sink; 5 great-grandchildren, Paige Barrett, Nathaniel Moore, Deanna Moore, Kylie Falkowski and Keegan Falkowski. She was preceded in death by 1 son, David Hilliard, on May 5, 2009. A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 8, 2021 at Mona View Cemetery with Pastor Paul Appold officiating.
