Dorothy Jean Jones' Obituary
Beloved wife and mother, Dorothy Jean Jones (Grinnewald), 95,preceded in death by her husband James Lorence Jones, peacefully passed away in her home on May 23, 2025 in Norton Shores, Michigan. Dorothy married James Lorence Jones on April 15, 1950 and they raised three Children; Constance (James) Gage, Lawrence (Donna) Jones and Timothy (Celeste) Jones. James and Dorothy have nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Dorothy is a Muskegon High School graduate (Go Big Reds!), class of 1947 and earned her Associates Degree in Accounting from Muskegon Community College. She worked and retired from GTE as an accountant in the billing department. Dorothy was a dedicated member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Dorothy enjoyed being with friends and family, golfing, reading, mahjong, bridge, and listening to music. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 PM Thursday, May 29, 2025 in Marian Chapel at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken Street, Norton Shores, MI 49441. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Right to Life Muskegon County (www.muskegonrtl.org/) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
