Dorothy Elaine Larson's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Elaine Larson, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at home. She was born on January 20, 1929 in Coral, MI to Lora and Lillian (Ramsey) Bassett, and resided in the Muskegon area for the past 60 years after moving from Morley, MI. Dorothy worked for 22 years at Howmet before retiring in 1991. She was a member of Community of Christ Church where she taught Sunday School. Dorothy was involved with the reading program at McMillan School for 13 years, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially loved the girl’s weekend at the cabin. On June 25, 1949, she married Robert Larson, and he preceded her in death on August 16, 1994. SURVIVORS include five children, James (Penny) Larson of North Muskegon, Jan (Tom) Frazier of North Muskegon, Lori Mackenzie of North Muskegon, Mari Larson of North Muskegon and Tom (LeeAnn) Larson of Norton Shores; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Larson and Pat Larson; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Bassett of Croton, MI; and sister, Gloria Taylor of Grant, MI. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her sons, Steve Larson and Chuck Larson; great grandson, Garrett Frazier; and brother, Don Bassett. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Monday at Community of Christ Church (2671 Ducey Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442) with daughter, Mari Larson officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 4-7PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210, and one hour prior to the service at church, from 10-11 AM.
