Mrs. Dorothy Marie Moran's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Marie Moran, age 93, passed away early Thursday morning, May 16, 2013, at a local nursing home surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born July 5, 1919, in Muskegon to Leo and Helen (Williams) Langlois. On June 29, 1940, she married Leslie Gould and he preceded her in death in 1948. She later married Joseph Moran on December 26, 1953, and he passed away in 1994. Dorothy spent many years as a waitress at the Doo Drop Inn. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since birth and was a very active member of the parish throughout the years. Dorothy was a member of the Altar Society, the Foresters, the Order of the Carmelites, and also served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is SURVIVED by her children, Judith Gould, Leslie ‘Bud’ (Marsha) Gould, William (Marie) Gould, Thomas (Anna) Gould, Katherine ‘Kay’ (Dick) Johnson, Josie Moran, Charles (Vickie) Moran and Michael Moran all of Muskegon; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Lynch and Helen (Monte) Tietsort, all of Muskegon; sisters-in-law, Phyllis, Sandra, Jennie, Gwen and Kathy Langlois, Eloda Moran and Honey Hobbs, all of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Scott and Steve Starr; great grandson, Michael VanFossen; brothers, Leo, William, Gerald, Robert, Louis, and Raymond Langlois; and her sister Marcella. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be Monday, May 20, 2013, 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 E. Summit Ave with Rev. Fr. William Langlois as Celebrant. VISITATION will be Sunday afternoon from 2-6 pm at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100
with the Rosary being prayed at 5:30 PM, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. INTERMENT will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Many thanks to all the staff on the 400 hallway of Sanctuary at McAuley Place for their wonderful care given these past 4 years.
