Mrs. Dorothy A. Peterson's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy A. Peterson, age 86, passed away Sunday evening, October 21, 2012. She was born August 22, 1926 in Muskegon to Boyd and Marguerite (Bovier) Arthur. Mrs. Peterson worked for Whittaker Electric before retiring in 1988. She was a life-long member of the Muskegon Recreation Club and the Bunker Alumni Association. She also enjoyed knitting, fishing, deck parties, Lake Michigan, and spending time with her children and their families. On February 14, 1979 she married Howard H. Peterson in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2009. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Robert “Frosty” (Peggy) Tazelaar, Karl Tazelaar, Charles (Mikalee) Tazelaar, Donald (Paula) Tazelaar; 3 step-children; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia (David) Barnard. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Boyd J. Arthur II. The family of Dorothy would like to thank Rev. Paula Reames and the staff of Families Manor for the exceptional care given to her and the family over the past few months. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565, with Rev. Paula Reames officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice or the Parkinson Foundation will be appreciated.
