Dorothy I. Senf's Obituary
Dorothy I. Senf, best known as “Dottie” & "Nanny", age 87, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022. She was born on April 14, 1935, to George and Helen (Lonergan) Beasley in Queens, New York. She was a competitive roller figure skater, earning numerous medals, a New York state championship and later became a professional instructor. In 1974, she followed the love of her life, Ron Senf, to Michigan. They married and cherished 50 years full of love and laughter. Dottie also dedicated numerous years working as an administrator & saleswoman, who received many top producer awards, before retiring in 1992.
Dottie enjoyed gardening and was a member of The Garden Club, racing on their sailboat at The Muskegon Yacht Club & volunteering at schools with her infamous witch costume to help educate children on Halloween safety. She had a special place in her heart for animals. She enjoyed spending time with her pets & watching the birds at the many feeders on their property.
Dottie was determined and had an unveiling passion to help others, with her compassion and selfless spirit. She always put others first. She was fearless, an amazing listener, a confidant and the best friend you could ask for. She was a servant of our Lord and a faithful woman.
Her greatest achievement and purest love were holding the titles of a mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She did not ever miss an opportunity to chat with them and express how much she loved them. She was everyone's "Nanny" & will be remembered for her radiant smile and famous line...“I love you more.” She will genuinely be missed by all who knew and loved her, but her spirit will live on in the memories we share.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ron Senf; daughter, Amy (Sig) Rudholm; two grandchildren, Morgan Rudholm and Myles Rudholm; and sister-in-law, Cathy Beasley. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jason Senf; and brother, George Beasley.
Dottie’s celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Home, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with visitation at 12:00pm, service 1:00 pm and luncheon to follow.
