Dorothy E. "Dottie" Carlson's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy E. “Dottie” Carlson, age 90, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 in Grand Rapids, MI. She was born April 25, 1919 in Muskegon to Gabriel and Aina (Uppgard) Lillmars and lived in the area all of her life. She married Raymond W. Carlson in 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1992. Dottie had worked for several years as a secretary for the City of Norton Shores and prior to that she worked for Anaconda Wire & Cable, Certified Concrete and Cannon Muskegon, Nugent Sand and earlier she worked with her husband at their grocery store on Lakeshore drive. Dottie was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church and enjoyed china painting in her spare time. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Renee’ (Ernest) Britton of Muskegon, Kurt Carlson of Oshkosh, WI, and Ric (Sheri) Carlson of Grapevine, TX; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grand children and 3 great-great grandchildren and special niece & caregiver, Elise (Tom) Roe of Ada, MI. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandson. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Forest Park Covenant Church (3815 Henry St.), with Pastor Wally Coots officiating.
