Dorothy J. (Bosch) Scanlon's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy J. (Bosch) Scanlon, age 75, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at her home. She was born March 5, 1934 in Muskegon to Bert and Angie (Vlasma) Bosch and lived in the area her entire life. She was employed as a bartender for the Grand Haven Eagles for 20 years before retirement and was a member of the Lakeside Eagles in Muskegon. She enjoyed bingo, golf and was a Detroit Piston’s Fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In 1976, she married Harvey Scanlon and he preceded her in death in 1996. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Dan (Barb) Bowen of North Muskegon, Kathy Wynne of Muskegon and Nancy Morton of Hesperia; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Johanna Hackney and Tillie Thomas. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 12:00 PM Monday, September 21, 2009 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with Pastor Douglas Bennett officiating.
