Dorothy J. Krueger's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy J. Krueger, age 90, passed away Monday evening January 3, 2011 in Holland. She was born September 24, 1920 in Muskegon to Gerritt and Jennie (Rop) Vos, and resided in the area all of her life before moving to Holland in 2003. Mrs. Krueger worked at Sealed Power during World War II, at Hardy Herpolsheimer’s for 5 years and then at Lakeside Department Store. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Covenant Reformed Church prior to becoming a member of Unity Reformed Church and belonging to their Women’s Ministry. Mrs. Krueger was a volunteer at Hackley Hospital, and a former Board of Director at the Holland Home. On September 25, 1943 she married John A.C. “Jack” Krueger, and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2004. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Daniel (Nancy) Krueger of Holland, James (Cherie) Krueger of Rockford, IL, Charles (Sherry) Krueger of Holland and Richard (Mary Ann) Krueger of Livonia, MI; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Althea Krueger, Carla Ryan, and Marilyn Vos; and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Krueger was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Misty D’Ann; 2 sisters, Henrietta Vos and Wilhemina Borgerding; and 1 brother, John Vos. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11AM Saturday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Jim Bos officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 4:30-7:30PM Friday, and 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers to Western Michigan Christian High School Endowment Trust Fund, Unity Reformed Church Building Fund, or the Resthaven Care Center will be appreciated.
