Dorothy Jane Kleyn's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Jane Kleyn, age 72, passed away into the arms of her heavenly father, Friday afternoon, April 10, 2009. She was born May 15, 1936 in Muskegon to Percy and Clarice (Smith) Lewis. Mrs. Kleyn worked for Fruitport Public Schools for 20 years before retiring in 1997. She was a member of Grace Christian Reformed Church, where she was involved in Ladies Guild and preparing funeral luncheons. She also enjoyed sewing and baking. On June 15, 1956 she married Louis Kleyn in Muskegon, enjoying 52 wonderful years together as husband and wife. SURVIVORS include her husband, Louis; 4 children, Gary (Shari) Kleyn of St. Louis, MO, Cheryl (Barry) Searles, Paul (Jessie) Kleyn, Carolyn (Thomas “Tom”) Taylor all of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 with Rev. Marvin Wassink and Rev. Bernie Mulder officiating. Burial will take place in Fruitport Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday.
