Mrs. Dorothy L. (Schutter) Hanks, age 88, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at a local nursing home. She was born March 29, 1918 in Muskegon to Dirk and Mary (Hays) Schutter and lived her entire life in the area. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. SURVIVORS include her husband, Laurence; 3 sons, David (Joan) Hanks of Ocala, FL, Laurence “Larry” Hanks of Niles, Daniel (Jan Kohler) Hanks of Adrian; 4 daughters, Mary Louise (Jim) Fields of Bowling Green, FL, Jacqueline (Robert "Butch" Myers)Hanks of Grand Junction, CO, Robin (Bill) Hendrix of Orlando, FL, Elsie Catherine “Cathy” (Bob) Trumble of Beaverton, MI; 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Elsie (Harold) Gowell of Muskegon, Grace (Pat) Carson of Muskegon, June (Russell) Colburn of Bushnell, FL, Nancy Gill of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Flossie Hanks, 1 son, John D. Hanks, 1 sister, Agnes, and 4 brothers, Dick, Harold, Earl, and Leroy. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held October 15, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Muskegon (3040 Evanston Ave.) with Rev. Ryan Counsell officiating.
