Dorothy V. "Ginny" Demler's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy V. “Ginny” Demler was born January 12, 1921 in Muskegon to Roy and Lucy (Halley) Panzenhagen and had resided in the Muskegon area all of her life. From age four to twelve, she sang with her brother, Roy Francis, and since the age of twelve, she was a professional musician, playing rhythm guitar with area dance bands. She was a life member of the Muskegon Musician’s Union and a foster grandmother for tutoring at Phillip’s School. She was married to Edward Demler who preceded her in death in 1971 and was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sheila Amburgey. SURIVORS include 1 daughter, Toni “June” Demler; 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and 1 brother, Roy Panzenhagen all of California; her step-mother, Bertha Panzenhagen of Grand Rapids; 1 step-sister, Blythe Fox of Norton Shores; cousins, including Grace Hosler, nieces, and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, December 6, 2003 at Sheridan Drive Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Rumley officiating. MEMORIAL GIFTS may be made to the family.
