Dorthiea L. VanderMolen's Obituary
Mrs. Dorthiea L. “Dot” VanderMolen, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2019 in Tulsa, OK. She was born on May 7, 1929 to Carl and Julia (Stinson) Horn in Malden, MO. Dot came to Muskegon as a young lady and married George VanderMolen in 1968 in Grand Haven. Dot was an avid reader, accomplished seamstress and gifted Bible teacher. She loved sharing a good story, socializing with others and women’s ministry. George and Dot were members of Forest Park Covenant Church. Dot is survived by her children, Kathy (Amir) Pradhan, David VanderMolen and Kay VanderMolen; eight grandchildren, Carmen, Jerry, Noah, Tiffiny, Anisa, Sarah, Bridge, and Hunter; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Medlin and Claude (Kathy) Medlin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, George; son, Seldon Harris; sister, Geraldine Richter; brother, David Medlin; and sister-in-law, Sue Medlin. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 5, at 1PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
