Hello to anyone reading this in the future it has been about 4-5 years since doug passed away and I just wanted to say that it has been a rough few years we have faced hardships and sadness and reading all the comments below just made me happy to see all the love and care that went towards him for I will miss you dad sincerly your son Uziah Stark P.S. I love you so much and I miss you with all my heart, me, mom, and mahayla dont go a day not thinking of you.
It seems like Doug and Brent were around throughout my entire childhood, whether it was at the beach, on the wrestling mat, or working together during the summer. I think of you two as brothers.
It has been years since we've crossed paths, and it breaks my heart that I will not cross paths with Doug in the future.
My thoughts go out to Doug's family during this difficult and confusing time, especially to Sarah and his two beautiful children.

Doug you are simply a kind hearted, funny and loveable guy. From wrestling to fishing- you just seemed to go full throttle for the things you enjoy. I think of the way that you loved Sara and the two of you have been together and STRONG for so long! You two had an apartment together before most of us had even moved out of our parents' house! You've built a most amazing and beautiful family together. Sara has always been a level headed and tough woman; I hate to see her have to endure this. Sara- I love you and wish I was closer to be there for you during this time. I cannot express the sadness that I feel but please know that I've been thinking about you constantly.
My sympathies go out to your parents, sister Carrie and brother Brent. I have many warm memories of gathering canoes at your house or enjoying a bonfire. Your family has always been so welcoming. Though it has been said many times already; you are truly a cool guy that will be missed deeply. You are so loved, Doug and will be greatly missed.
I met Doug when I first moved to Montague, he was friends with my cousin Nick. He accepted me as a friend even though I was new in town. Doug you were always a cool guy and were always nice to everyone. We became friends and we all hung out quite a bit over the summers. Doug you will be missed. Until we meet again.
Doug, I remember the first time I met you- it was on the wrestling mat in 1994, you pinned me with a 3/4 Nelson. The following year I got lucky and won in 1995, 1996 you beat me again, you were a stud. I enjoyed talking to you during wrestling tournaments on Saturday's, you were a stand-up guy with enormous amounts of tenacity on and off the wrestling mat. We wrestled again our junior year, both of us were sitting on our 99th win, going for win 100 as juniors, I thought for sure I was going to win being up 6-2 after the 1st period, then after it was all said and done you beat me AGAIN 12-9, I felt like I wrestled a wolverine after the match. I remember the last time I saw you it was at Tractor Supply, and you were with your son looking at the baby ducks- I could instantly tell you were a great father.
