Douglas Howard Jones' Obituary
Mr. Douglas Howard Jones, age 65, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born October 15, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to Richmond and Connie (Alexander) Jones.
Douglas held a special place in his family’s life. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. He was an avid swimmer, competing in several Special Olympics in the butterfly stroke where he won many ribbons and metals. He loved horse back riding and spent many summers at Cran-Hill Ranch. A highlight in his life was meeting the cast of Dukes of Hazard in 2008 at the Dukesfest in Atlanta, Georgia at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. His lap around the track in the General Lee Dodge Charger was a dream come true.
Douglas is survived by his loving mother, Connie Deal; three brothers: Richmond (Cindy) Jones, Craig (Yvette) Jones, and Dr. Donald (Nikole) Jones: nine nieces and nephews: Alexandra, Quintin, Cliff, Marshall, Winston, Felix, Anisa, Nicolette, and Hunter; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richmond T. Jones, and step-father, Albert L. Deal.
