Uncle Doug was always upbeat and enjoyed the company of family. He took a genuine interest in what his nieces and nephews were doing, and what we had to say. As sad as this is, we are fortunate to have had him in our lives. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy and condolences go to the family of Dr. Douglas Young. I was apart of a great experience of being his last class before departing from this world. Even though I only knew him professional I truly believe no matter who he has met in his life, his presence stuck with them or linger into their hearts. I only knew him for three weeks, but those three weeks brought small changes I never encountered before. He changed each and every one of his students from a simple task as prefacing your material with a change in subject line. I have always tried to change that but it was simple as my reply, in my three years in college no instructor suggested something as simple as that. I know he will be missed, but he was happy with his life so that is something to smile about through the rough times to avoid crying constantly. My heart goes out to you because I know death is never an easy thing to encounter especially when it is so close to home.
