Douglas Leo Frishett's Obituary
Douglas L. Frishett, age 72 of Norton Shores fought and won many battles in life but finally lost the war on April 1, 2010 at his home. Doug was born in Muskegon on November 2, 1937 to Leo and Therma (Shoultz) Frishett. Doug worked as a service manager for N & K Trucking for 20 years and then worked as a chief mechanic for the City of Norton Shores for almost 20 years prior to his retirement. Doug belonged to the Polish Falcons and the Mona Lake Boating Club. Doug enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, model railroading and woodworking. Doug married Patricia L. Wheeler on March 23, 1973. Pat survives him along with 2 children, Douglas L. Frishett, Jr. and Michelle (Ray) Bergin along with grandson Thomas A. Serio and several other grandchildren. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 12:30 PM Tuesday April 6, 2010 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 231-798-1100 with Chaplain Larry Terlouw officiating. VISITATION will begin at 10AM Tuesday with his family. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John H. Frishette and grandson, Steven Serio in 1996. In lieu of flowers please consider Heartland Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Burial of ashes will take place in Norton Cemetery.
