Dover G. Singleton's Obituary
Mr. Dover G. Singleton, 73, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Clare, MI. He was born April 6, 1949, to Lester and Emma (Osborne) Singleton in Muskegon and lived all of his life here. He was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Korea in the late 1960's, and had worked most of his life in hotel management and inspection. Dover loved to ride his Harley with mom, and be with his motorcycle group, the CMA. He had a love for God and devoted his life to being a Christian. On May 16, 1969, he married Evelyn J. McWain and she survives him along with two children, Rita Sue Bettendorf, Dover Singleton, Jr.; five grandchildren: Mariah (Anthony) Galindo, Hailey Bettendorf, Blake Bettendorf, Dover Singleton III, Brooke Lyn Singleton; great-grandchildren: Emma, Bryce, Dover IV, Sylvia, Farrah, Jayce, and Aiden; two sisters: Derita Leatherman, Darleen (Larry) Wheeler; sister-in-law: Joyce Singleton, and nephew Jim Singleton, Jr. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother James, his sister Louella, and his brother-in-law Bruce Leatherman. A time to celebrate Dover’s life and visit with his family will be Saturday, March 18, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the gymnasium at Fellowship Church, 4200 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. Contributions in Dover’s memory may be made to the family, c/o Evelyn Singleton, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
