Dr. Arthur H. Greenberg's Obituary
Dr. Arthur H. Greenberg, age 91, passed away Thursday evening, following a long illness. Arthur was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 19, 1918, to Harry and Ida (Majid) Greenberg. Prior to WWII, Mr. Greenberg worked as an accountant in Washington D.C. Following the start of WWII, Arthur enlisted into the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country as an officer, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant. Following his discharge from the military, Arthur enrolled into the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry. Following graduation, Dr. Greenberg moved to Muskegon and began his practice in dentistry. Always active in the community, Dr. Greenberg served as former Mayor of the City of Roosevelt Park, was a member of the Muskegon Heights Optimist, past president of the Michigan Dental Association and was a member of the Temple B’Nai Israel Synagogue. In November of 1938, he married the former Gertrude M. Kopeloff and she survives him along with their: three daughters, Phyllis E. (Harvey) Gendler of Belmont, Marian J. (Alan) Siegel of Grand Rapids and Jeanette I. (Steve) Waite of Spring Lake; six grandchildren, Benjamin Waite, Samuel Gendler, Daniel Gendler, Bart Siegel, Elizabeth Siporoin and Mark Siegel and 4 great-grandchildren, Ellen, Carl, Justin and Zoe. A private family graveside service was held at Mona View Cemetery on March 26, 2010, with Rabbi Alan P. Alpert presiding.
