Duane A. Sobers' Obituary
Duane A. “Dewey” Sobers, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He was born on January 21, 1965 to Floyd and Nita (Lucas) Sobers in Shelby. Dewey retired from the US Army and has worked 18 years at L3 as a machinist. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, building model airplanes, camping and sports in general. On August 30, 2013, he married Sherri Sobers and she survives him along with his son, Sean Sobers; stepsons, Jordan and Tyler Kuch; mother, Nita (Roger) Sobers; sister, Dawn (Bill) Furman; niece, Tonya Eschman; mother-in-law, Karen Ypma and sister-in-law, Tracy Ypma-Devers. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd; his first wife, Trudy Sobers and father-in-law, Dan Ypma. FUNERAL SERVICE with Military Rites will be held 1:00 PM, Monday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 with Pastor John Brown officiating.
