Dwight J. Posvistak's Obituary
Dwight J. Posvistak, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2024, in Lansing, MI. He was born on March 19, 1948, to John Posvistak and Nancy (Culver) Syson in Muskegon, MI which he has always called home. He graduated from Mona Shores High School class of 1966. Dwight was a proud veteran serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a skilled machinist dedicating 20+ years to Dilesco Corporation and then Port City. In his younger years, he attended photography school and followed his passion for photography for many years. Dwight was an outdoorsman, whether he was hunting, out on the greens golfing or creating his own knives. Above all he cherished the time spent with his family, especially going out to dinner to try the next best meal. He will always be remembered as a wonderful dad, loving grandpa, amazing cousin and friend. Dwight will be sorely missed by all who got to know and love him. He is survived by his two children, Heather (Christina) Posvistak and Kevin (Kelly) Posvistak; three grandchildren, Griffin, Chase and Isabelle; numerous cousins; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Nancy “Tootie” Ferguson. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4-7:00 PM with military rites starting at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S.
